My New Favorite Breakfast! Tropical Chia Breakfast Bowl Recipe
2014
This chia breakfast bowl recipe has been a favorite breakfast lately. It makes a perfect breakfast as it’s packed with incredibly healthy superfoods and gives you sustained energy for long periods. Chia is a real nutritional superstar with a similar nutritional profile as flax and hemp seeds. It’s one of the best foods for beauty and weightloss. If you are not already, you have to get onto chia, and this breakfast bowl makes it insanely delicious and fun to eat!
I was going to save this recipe exclusively for my newsletter. I have some special recipes I’ve done that for, like my insanely good raw dairy-free Vanilla Ice Cream and those too-good-to-stop-eating Sour Cream & Onion Kale Chips. I’ve put many great easy awesome recipes in it. Oh, and btw, this week I’m sharing an incredible raw recipe for ‘Donut Holes’, which are so delicious too! But that’s besides the point – except that if you haven’t signed up you really need to right here!
2 awesome versions!
So, I have 2 ways that I love to make this delicious breakfast bowl recipe. One is with tropical fruits as I will show you here. The other has diced apple or pears and dried cranberries added instead of the coconut. That’s the one I posted few weeks ago in my newsletter.
Today we’re leaving the winter behind and going tropical!! The Mariachi band is already in the kitchen and waiting for us.
Let’s go make breakfast!
Tropical Chia Breakfast Bowl Recipe
Ingredients
1 Banana
¼ cup Chia seeds
¾ cup Almond milk
dash Vanilla and Cinnamon
Topping:
2 Tbsp shredded Coconut
2 Tbsp Hemp seeds
2 Tbsp Buckwheat groats
2 Tbsp Pecans or Walnuts – chopped
¼ to ½ cup Mango – diced small
¼ to ½ cup Pineapple – diced small
Directions
Mash banana in a bowl. Then add chia, milk, vanilla and cinnamon. Stir and let set for 20 minutes, or overnight covered in fridge. (Note: we made a large batch for 20 people in the photos so we had to multiply this recipe).
Just before eating, in a separate bowl stir the topping ingredients together. Spoon the topping on top of the chia mixture. Enjoy this as is, or add almond milk and your favorite sweetener if desired.
This makes enough for one very hungry person, or 2 small potions.

Get together the ingredients for the chia base.
Mash the banana and add the rest of the ingredients and stir together in a bowl.
Tip: When making large quantities I often use a whisk to break up any clumps of chia. It’s also good to let sit for about 10 minutes and stir again, so the mixture is well blended.
After it sets, spoon into bowls.
When making one portion I just make it in the bowl it will be eaten from, so this step gets omitted.
Next mix up the topping. This is it ready for the nago and pineapple to be added.
Mmm, lots of mango and pineapple!
Spoon the topping onto chia mixture and it’s ready to serve!
To your most vibrant health, with love,
Robin
