Tasty Toppings: Raw Strawberry Jam, Sweet Cinnamon Almond Butter and Chocolate Spread
2012
These raw sweet toppings are abundantly nutritious and filled with living enzymes. Enzymes are the catalyst of every metabolic process and our bodies use them for every single action we make. From our conscious actions right down to our hearts beating, we are using enzymes and so we want lots, especially as many of us deplete our bodies limited store of them far too soon.
Also, these spreads are made sweet with using less sweetener than their cooked versions, and are made with natural sweeteners.
You can use strawberry jam in the same way you would any cooked jam and it’s also great with many desserts. In a pinch it can top a cheesecake and for this it is nice to add a few more chopped strawberries to it. leave a few to decorate the top. (yes, cheesecake recipe coming soon!). It is great in a parfait with cut up fruit and vanilla cashew cream, or brownie bits. Chocolate and strawberries go fabulously together! My friend has been mixing some with yogurt and fresh fruit.
Raw Strawberry Jam
Ingredients
2 cups Strawberries
3 Tbsp Agave
1 ½ Tbsp Psyllium
1 Tbsp Lemon juice
Directions
Blend together in food processor or blender. Pour into bottles and store in fridge.
Raw strawberry jam is the easiest recipe ever to make but it must be used right away and will keep for up to 2 weeks in the fridge. I am testing this now, usually it doesn’t last that long.
Strawberry jam can be made with other berries or fruits just by changing the fruit in it. But keep in mind that for a more sour fruit you may want to add a little more agave to it.

Sweet Cinnamon Almond Butter Spread
This spread is great to spread on fruit or crackers. Just add a little water to thin it slightly to make a fruit dip. Makes a great ice cream or dessert topping too!
Ingredients
1 Tbsp Almond Butter
1 tsp Agave
1 tsp Cinnamon
dash of salt – optional
Directions
Place all ingredients in a bowl and mix well with a spoon. This is just a single snack serving; try not to eat it all before you are finished.
It is great with apple slices!
Chocolate Spread
This is a base I often use to mix in lots of superfoods such as: maca, chlorella, a blend of 8 medicinal mushrooms and my favorite herbs at the time. It disguises them so you barely notice they are there and it is just like eating a bowl of chocolate icing. This is my kind of multi vitamin! ..but it’s also a superfood on it’s own and great spread on crackers, fruit and desserts too!
Ingredients
1 Tbsp Almond Butter
2 tsp Cacao powder
2 tsp Agave
½ tsp Cinnamon
Directions
Place all ingredients in a bowl and mix well with a spoon.
