Tamarind Dipping Sauce
2012
This is hands down my favorite dipping sauce for spring rolls. It has a very unique combination of flavors that I think are amazing together. It has a certain distinctive uniqueness about it. You can also spice it up with a bit of hot sauce or sambal added or leave it as is – either way, delicious!
Tamarind Dipping Sauce
Ingredients
1 c Tamarind paste
1/2 c Agave
2 T Nama shoyu or Tamari
2 T Olive Oil
1” Ginger – minced
1 t Salt
1/2 t Caraway
1/2 t ground Coriander seed
Dash of Anise and Garlic powder
Directions
Make a tamarind paste – follow the link to see instructions how to make it.
This is the longest part of making the sauce, after this is finished it is easy!
Just blend it with all of the ingredients together in a blender. You can add chilies or sambal or other hot sauce to it if you like heat. I sometimes do and it tastes great either way, with or without.
This sauce will keep in the fridge for 2-3 weeks.

This dipping sauce is great with them!
This dipping sauce is also great with Lettuce Leaf Rolls – just wrap up shredded and chopped up vegetables with your favorite fillings in big lettuce leaves! You can pour a little of the dipping sauce in the roll before wrapping it and serve with more tamarind dipping sauce on the side!
