Pics from the Lotus Heart Center #3
2014
I have some more photos uploaded to share from the Lotus Heart Center in Brighton, Ontario. I am on a small break for a couple days in Toronto right now, in between the two 10 day retreats and I’m just going through photos to share, especially ones of the food and from the kitchen, where I have been spending most of my time.
The kitchen is my favorite place to be, so I am happy to spend lots of time here, and I mean lots of time, like over 14 hours a day. But there are lots of perks: being around great people and delicious healthy food, and just being in a warm kitchen when it’s so cold outside is awesome!!
I’m taking full advantage of my days off and at this very moment I am just in between an incredibly amazing mud steam session with a few close members of my tribe, and I am about to go meet my daughter and then dinner with all 3 of my kids, who are really adults (early 20’s) so not kids at all! Now I will take a bit of time to continue sharing some photos from the Lotus Heart Center kitchen!
We made a lot of salads, every day we served an awesome new one.
This was a massaged Kale Salad with spinach and almonds..
Pesto Pizzas, not raw this time, but I blended the flours (one was gluten free) and made the crusts from scratch. I’m using this experience to get a little gluten-free education.
Tropical Chia Breakfast Bowls. This was a favorite breakfast and the recipe will be included int he next newsletter.
I’m mixing the dressing for the Herbed Couscous.
The couscous was served with a tomato and onion spaghetti squash dish, roatsed root vegetables and a chickpea salad with creamy dill dressing.
Holly is helping me chop vegetables for the Gypsy Soup.
The beautiful spice palate for the Gypsy Sweet Potato Tomato Soup – recipe coming one day soon.
A new creation is in the works. I had planned a Key Lime Pie, but then Holly suggested we use the papaya and asked if I could make a Papaya Pie. Of course I love a challenge. Here a masterpiece is being created.
This was the finished Papaya Pie. The slices mostly came out with a papaya cube mosaic and the cream is made with mango, pineapple, orange juice and zest and coconut cream. The recipe will come for this eventually as well!
We had such a snowstorm! This is Andre, who runs the Lotus Heart Center. I feel very blessed that he thought of me to come and help with the retreat. I think a lot of what Andre does is guided and I am honoured to be part of this event and spending time here. It is quite an exceptional place, and all of the people here are as well!
In the kitchen we were creating another salad. This one was called ‘7 Chakras of Avocado ‘ and it had a delicious Sweet Orange Lime Dressing.
That’s it for now. I am rushing ff to spend a bit of time with my kids before heading back. Hope you are all staying cozy and warm and enjoying delicious healthy fun and colorful food as well!
