Peggys Cove
2012
Peggys Cove is a small rural community located 43 kilometers from downtown Halifax. It is one of many small fishing villages located in this area, around the perimeter of the Chebucto peninsula.
Peggys Cove has a smaller population now than formerly. It is a place that many artists an photographers flock to and is a popular tourist destination. Peggys Cove has been declared a preservation area to protect its rugged beauty. Development is prohibited for 2,000 acres of this area, from Indian Harbour to West Dover.
It was busy, being the labor day weekend, the day we went. It was also Mom’s birthday! ..& so lots of people around to help us celebrate it. ; )
Just in front of where we parked there were lots of little Inukshuks made and set up on the rocks.
