Monastero Santa Rosa: Boutique Hotel and Spa on the Amalfi Coast, Italy
2012
Our virtual weekend get away takes us to Monastero Santa Rosa hotel which was built in the 17th century as a monastery on the beautiful and picturesque Amalfi Coast in Italy.
Writers, poets and artists have tried for centuries to capture the beguiling essence of la dolce vita along Costiera Amalfitana. A coastline so renowned for its divine allure that John Steinbeck rhapsodized in 1953, “a dream place that isn’t quite real when you are there but becomes beckoningly real after you are gone.” The picture-perfect towns along Italy’s Amalfi Coast do belong solely to the angels in their otherworldly beauty. Visit Costiera Amalfitana and you too will succumb to its transcendental nature.” ..read more here
We will meet here in this gorgeous small town Conca dei Marini , located between Amalfi and Praiano at this little hotel where we can relax and enjoy the natural beauty of the area. Join me on a road trip along the “dramatic Blue Highway serpentining its way south of Sorrento. The Amalfi Drive, “the road with 1,001 turns,” is the most precipitous road in Europe with vertigo-inducing vistas plunging down jagged cliffs into the azure Tyrrhenian Sea”. We will visit neighboring towns that rival for beauty with their cobblestone streets, abundant lemon groves with their sweet citrus scents, abundant espresso bars and sidewalk cafes. We will see ancient watchtowers and magnificent churches, bougainvillea-covered villas and pebbly beaches along this beautiful coast with its hundreds of colourful bobbing boats.
Today we experience luxurious yet effortless Mediterranean simplicity.
I may be doing burpees on the grass instead..
The spa..
Massages outside in the fresh seacoast air. Wonderful!
Breathe deep and take in the citrus and floral scents.

Have a great day!
