ChocoMonkey Smoothie Recipe

This is my favorite smoothie! This was created for wild little chocolate-crazy monkeys. The ChocoMonkey is ultra smooth and creamy chocolate goodness at its best! And not only is it delicious, but it is a real superfood treat! Cacao is loaded with feel good and nutritional properties. It has one of the highest ratings of any food on the planet for antioxidants and is loaded with a variety of minerals. It is especially high magnesium, a vital mineral which most people are very deficient in. This smoothie is bursting with flavor and nutrition.

I like to make my ChocoMonkey Smoothie with almond milk that I make myself and you can do this also or use any other milk that you prefer: hemp, soy or rice milks will work well also. Almond milk is so easy to make, just soak and then rinse almonds, blend them with water and strain. Here’s How to make Almond Milk.
It is wonderful on it’s own and also wonderful to put lots of other great superfoods into. My favorite add-on to this is a teaspoon of maca, which creates a super-wild, super-loveable ChocoMonkey! The best type! I also sometimes add chia or hemp protein powder to mine. Experiment. I am always looking for ways to load up on superfoods. ; )
ChocoMonkey Smoothie
Ingredients
1 c Almond Milk
1 Banana
1 Tbsp raw Cacao powder
1 Tbsp Almond Butter
1 Medjool Date
½ tsp Cinnamon
1 tsp Vanilla
Handful of ice cubes
Directions
Pit date and then add all ingredients in the blender and blend until creamy and smooth.

I realized I didn’t have almond butter. It tastes great without too!
Put ingredients in blender.
Blend and enjoy!
