Apple Cinnamon Quinoa Porridge Recipe

This delicious quinoa porridge recipe is a comfort food and a hot quinoa breakfast cereal that is high in protein, nutritious and tastes great. Apples and cinnamon flavor this quinoa cereal and they are left raw for added nutrition and enzymes. The crunch of the apple cubes mixed with the soft hot cereal works really well together for a great texture, on top of an amazingly delicious flavor. This is a wonderful filling comfort food that will keep you feeling satiated for hours.
This recipe is so easy to make. If you can cook quinoa, which is a cinch and just like cooking rice (just simmer quinoa in twice as much water over low heat), this is a breeze to put together!
Apple Cinnamon Quinoa Porridge Recipe
Ingredients
½ cup Quinoa – cooked in 1 cup Water
1 Apple – peeled, seeded and chopped
2 Tbsp Maple syrup
¼ cup sliced Almonds
½ tsp Cinnamon
Directions
Cook quinoa by simmering it in twice as much water over low heat on the stove. When it has finished cooking and the water has been absorbed, remove from the hot burner and drape a clean tea towel over top of the pot. This will absorb excess moisture and leave you with a fluffier quinoa.
After quinoa is cooked, add the rest of the ingredients to it. Stir well and serve.
Note on cinnamon: Cinnamon is a real superfood and is highly nutritious. It is known to lower blood sugar levels. If you love it, add more to this recipe!
