Every weekend Mom and I make a big pot of soup together. It’s part of getting Mom back into and comfortable cooking and working in the kitchen again.. so it’s kind of a therapy thing. But cooking is a great bonding activity to do together so it is nourishing in different ways and has multiple benefits.  Mom sometimes tends to lean towards comfort foods these days and this is one of those recipes. I would have left out the potatoes and substituted other vegetables and you can do that if you like. That’s the beauty of soups, they are very adaptable. This recipe is a real comfort soup, but still very healthy, vegan and it is delicious! Perfect for these cooler fall days!  || Read more

This new burpee workout is a time challenge and has 5 different types of burpees in it. The last 3 types are ones I am doing for the first time. Fun new burpees that are set around ab crunch exercises done with a medicine ball. You can use a different weight, like a dumbbell, water bottle, or just use body weight if you don’t have a medicine ball. There are some really fun exercises in here and I hope you enjoy the workout.  || Read more

Collard leaves make a great base for wraps. They are big and flexible, strong enough to hold lots of fillings together and do not have a strong taste. I would rather eat a big green leaf any day than a carb-loaded flour based tortilla. The nutrition skyrockets in comparison and after you try this you will see how delicious it is, as well as how clean and energetic you feel after eating it, as opposed to heavy and bloated. My favorite filling is a nutmeat patty and lots of great toppings. The taco wrap version is one of my favorites and here I will show you exactly how to make it. || Read more

This workout has 5 rounds. 3 of them are cardio (Full Heart) rounds, and they are a mountain climbers/high knees/jumping jacks combo that should take under 2 minutes for each. These are done around the 2 interval parts which are both made up of different exercises, so you won’t get bored! I like to mix up the exercises. both it’s great for the body to use different muscles and also to keep the brain entertained so it’s busy thinking about what to do next and then the time just flies by and before you know it, another workout done!  I hope you enjoy this one. I thought it flowed along well and was a fun one!  || Read more

These nutmeat patties are delicious and filling too! They are versatile and I like to eat them in a number of different ways. They are great in a wrap or sandwich or great crumbled in top of zucchetti and marinara sauce. Sometimes I even make them into round balls, so they are like meatballs. I love them crumbled on top of a big salad or just eat them on the side with any meal. || Read more
